Give Green light a call I got a really good deal and they mirrored my NCB so I could still use it on my daily runner plus they beat every other qoute and that was with mods declared too

Default Mirrored NCB for 2nd car

Thanks dexster81,

We are able to mirror NCB and do offer some good discounts for lower mileage use.

Very kind of you to recommend us

Kind regards

Tony

waste of time, couldnt even get close to quotes on the impreza , didnt even ask about experience or mileage and then said we only insure performance cars when i asked what the ibiza quote was, whether he meant the quote was going to be high for that car or they werent prepared to insure it i dont know because i had enough of wasting my day by then.

Wouldn't even insure my impreza as apparently was bad postcode, funny as other insurers said it was a good postcode

Red face Sorry to hear about the difficulty you've had

Hi stedee, Hi bustaMOVEs,

Sorry to see that you guys didn’t have the best time with us today, but if you don’t mind me taking a look at this for you I’ll hopefully be able to sort this out for you.

We are competitive upon performance and modified cars, so it’s unusual to see that we couldn’t get near to the quotes that you have had. Although mileage and experience are two of the most influential factors to us and the adviser that you spoke with should have captured this detail, as this would have made a difference.

If you don’t mind PM’ing me your contact details (including the number you called from) I’ll be able to get a manager to call to run through this with you and will also be able to have our I.T. team trace your original call (with a view to checking as to why we were uncompetitive on this occasion and also to review the performance of the specific adviser that you had spoken with).

With regard to the Ibiza, whilst we can quote for these vehicles our products are almost entirely aimed at performance cars and we’re unlikely to be competitive unless it’s a Cupra, FR or similar model.

There are some postcodes our products exclude within Yorkshire, but we can cover most of the Sheffield (S), Leeds (LS), Huddersfield (HD), Doncaster (DN), Wakefield (WF) and some of the Halifax (HX) postcodes.

Most of our specialist products exclude a high proportion of the Bradford (BD) postcodes, as a result of the high frequency of personal injury claims received. But this would also be mirrored by other Insurance providers.

If you don’t mind PM’ing me your actual postcode I’d happily take this up with our technical team, particularly as other Insurers are confirming you live in a good (low risk) area.

I’d welcome the chance to take a look at this for both of you and will oversee this for you personally.

Kind regards

Tony

No thanks, if it couldn't be done in the first place (staff etc) and you need to look into it after I've posted it, then I'm not wasting my time. Should be correct in the first instance (makes me think about the after sales experience)
I rang round a few insurers a few months back now, not today and sorted it via another insurer and I phoned 5 of the specialists.
And it is one of the postcodes you've listed and no it's not Bradford. Actually I was surprised when it was said my postcode is bad when it's a nice quite area as other insurers suggested.
I'm 33 with 10+ ncd no points etc parked on drive. So was a little annoyed as I've never been refused in the 15yrs of driving.

well at least tony seems interested in what has gone wrong, ive pmed my details, what got my back up is another 20min phone call going through the same ol ****e for a quote that was pretty far off on the scooby let alone the poxy ibiza.

not from greenlight i will add but others will do the scooby for inbetween 500 and 550, they claim they are mirroring my ncb and want 750 for the ibiza - what a joke.

yet on confused i get a quote for 400 using my ncb and 620 with no ncb on the ibiza.

2 car policies afaics are a complete con

Ring the companies on the comparison site and ask what the actual price is.

It's very rare that the initial internet price is the same at the end when you come to pay, or check the t&c's

Although you feel the Ibiza price is 'a joke' i did spend 10-15 minutes the other day explaining the prices.

You may not agree with the way the underwriters look at the risk, but the claim stats show they are correct.

lol no i dont agree with the underwriters. i understood what you said though

what i am trying to say is cars dont drive themselves so if you have a decent ncb the risk should be based on that rather than what car, particularly if you drive a performance car regularly so that most other cars are in fact easier to drive.

are you therefore saying ppl with lots of ncb crash alot as soon as they get into a high risk car such as a corsa, ibiza etc.

the other point was about mirror policies whoever they are with ,in my experience, arent actually using your ncb, well the quotes dont reflect that anyway.there doesnt seem to be a discount at all, quite the opposite in fact, it seems cheaper to have 2 separate policies.

i dont get what you are saying about the quotes ive had off the comparison sites, iirc you can go straight through with the quote without ringing anyone.

its about time classics were allowed to be insured as classics, with the ammount of miles i put on mine anyway, that would solve my gripes

Quite simply, the insurers we use for the specialist risks don't want to touch 'normal' cars, as they seem to be the ones that have the claims.

Your Subaru policy is very similar to a classic policy.... hence it is so cheap. (low miles/second car)

Re the camparison sites, if you know better than i do then fair enough, i'll let you discover yourself how they work.

Unfortunately you live in a high rated postcode, which is why we are 'expensive' on the Seat.... it doesn't fit any specialist scheme.
With the Subaru the fact you have it as a second car, and is low mileage reduces the risk significantly, hence the specialist insurers will insure on on a policy that is very sililar to a classic policy.

It's not just you, so don't take it personally.
When i had my little £500 1.4 Corsa it was only £100 less to insure than my 390bhp STI

To back this up, I run a highly modified engine swapped car on a limited mileage policy, my diesel passat run about costs only a margin less to insure (really due to the extra use it sees).

Cheers

They either cant do car/bike or they cant do modern/classic or they can do one car cheap but not the other. Far too much hassle.
There are products available which would suit, we have a brilliant fleet policy but the entrance criteria is a little strict, eg at least one vehicle must be valued at £15k or over

All types of vehicles are covered through (eg cars, bikes, commercial vehicles, classics, kit cars, modified car etc) and the level of cover is second to none

It may be an idea to remember our details for renewal time

Thanks

What is the postcode out of interest? Perhaps either other specialists can comment or assist?

i dont take anything personally lol as i hope you dont

i tried to insure a 1.4 saxo before and that came back at roughly the same price.

"Your Subaru policy is very similar to a classic policy.... hence it is so cheap. (low miles/second car)".

yes but ive had a policy before not sure whether it was km or not, that i asked for limited mileage and i was told it doesnt matter and i could do what mileage i wanted and that was my only car at the time, this was at the usual price i pay.

if the second car was only slightly cheaper that would have been ok, its the fact its quite alot more that i cant understand.

i have used the comparison sites in the past and you could do it direct through their site but that was a while ago if its changed since i dont know but i have noticed the quotes go up and down depending on what day you use them and ive seen 2 different sites give 2 quotes for the same insurer with a £200 difference.

It used to be an excluded area for us, not any more but we look very carefully before placing risks in the area. I hope that doesn't come across rudely, it certainly isn't meant that way.

The policy we had you on this year was a limited mileage one, hence the price.

We may have had you with a different insurer the year before, or you may have been insured elsewhere.

It's more a case of the Impreza being cheap than the Seat being expensive really. (trying to get a positive out of a negative and all that )

i do agree tbh, if the impreza was 700 and the ibiza 300, that would be how i would expect it. i suppose because ive got used to paying a good price on the impreza i expect other cars to be cheaper and thats just not the case.

gonna shut up now and leave you in peace

Batley is plagued with car thieves and them sort of folk and they use the surrounding areas to do their crimes as to why ollie said what he said, I can agree with him. I know a few folk over there and what they get upto or used to.

yeah it's a nice area tbh, but I think it's more todo with the surrounding areas, and they probably come to nice areas for posh cars (break in get keys and the merc is gone)

I used to have a house at robbertown and that's nice too but getting more closer to hecky so would rise again.
Tbh where you are is quiter, probably had claims in past from the scum down the road.

That Chinese restaurants nice though.
