Thumbs down KM screwed me out of a good quote

I have been with KM for 3 years now and thought they were the business. However, I am absolutely disgusted at the way KM have decided to do business and undercut their competitors. I was recently quoted by A Plan £775 for my car insurance through the underwriter Markerstudy. when I eventually got through to Gary Moulson @ Keith Michaels (after trying for 2 weeks no stop!), he said the best he could quote me was £835 through the same company. Thinking Gary would be able to match the price as it is through the same insurer, he said he would get back to me. Little did I know, he decided to call Markerstudy direct and tell them about the price A Plan offered me and get the verbal quote cancelled. A Plan called me 10 mins later to tell me the situation. Cant believe he stoop to that level by calling the underwriter and telling them not to give A Plan the better price. So much for customer satisfaction. Absolute joke!

I doubt that Gary has the "clout" to get an underwriter to cancel something, sounds fishy to me

Still he'll be here soon to tell us:

I don't see how anyone working for another Company can get a quote deleted or retracted when it is not directly their business, I'm sure this would fall into the data protection act.

I'm not sure 'Markerstudy' are the best under writers too, Have you read the Spec-D accident thread

Yes, I rang Markerstudy to ask them to match the price for us.... like pretty much any broker would do. As you say, you have been insured with us for 3 years and I do like to look after my clients. We asked Markerstudy to match the £775 rate for us but they couldn't do that. What they did do was offer me the original £835 but with protected bonus - I did this because you asked me to see if I could match the A-Plan rate. I assume you wanted to stay with us.

At NO stage did I ask them to cancel the quote they gave you, I wouldn't (and couldn't) do that. I am sorry that A-Plan have not been able to process their £775 rate and I do not know why they can't.

I would have appreciated you speaking to or emailing me before posting such a negative comment. For what it is worth, I was going to take off my commission and match the rate of £775 for you but the contact number I have doesn't seem to work.

i have read a few posts on here about gary getting slated. and he always proves people wrong. i am with him and got through instantly when i first got my car. everyone wants things done yesterday these days or thinks that people can do miracle's. you can only do what u can do. not directed at anyone before people take offence but he is one man trying to keep an army of subaru owners happy. give the guy a break

Not many insurers would promptly respond to a PM off here I think people sometimes forget that Gary will have other business to attend to, not just Scoobynet enquiries. It's nice to talk to an insurer that knows what they are talking about, it may take a few calls or messages but it's always worth it!

Another slating off to Gary publically
Can these things not be done by a private message rather then public condemnation ?
Not good at all to post something like this so all the other key board warriors can get in

Fortunley Gary has hundreds more supporters because
His knowledge of subarus and modifications is amazing
He knows how to get the best deals
He always gets the right price
And he always pleases 99% of people with the best service and cheap prices
No one else can touch him because of his knowledge of the insurance business and Subaru

Always low posters as well seem to complaine

Us old boys gave Gary the respect and praise that he deserves

I dont even bother checking competition now
Just pay the man and be happy

Last month my wrd was down £30 on last year
Greenwagon is due this month

Can it be the lowest quote in the uk

instead of this

try using this and disgussing it with him.

markerstaudy are pretty well known to give one insurance company a different rate to another for no apparent reason.

Spoke to Gary this morning. Cleared the air so to speak, and he understands why I wrote this thread. I do apologise for making this thread as it has reflected quite badly on him.
