Default Direct Line insurance quote

Got a decent quote for my 08 STi, I need to call them to update the quote for the exhaust and filter.

My question is are they funny about mods?

Cheers

They will add them on but charge you!!

It used to be 10% per item when I used to be with them years ago,

In a word mate, YES. They hate moders.

That's why I've found using specialist performance car insurers end up being better as they don't pull your pants down over mods.

Years ago I was with tesco and they wanted to charge me another £200-£300 for an induction kit and they wanted to know exactly how much more power it will give etc

Direct Line wouldnt cover me with mods on mine, although that may have been because it was my 1st scoob and age playing a factor.

It may be better to test the water and ask them what the increase would be IF you did the changes 1st rather than do the mods and then your stuck with what they decide to charge you.

your quote may no longer be good ,id put exhuast on but i woudnt bother with indution kit waste of time ,iv noticed iv had some fantastic quotes from go compare but as soon as you add any parts ie alloys, exhuast etc they bloody sting you, your better of with trader like a plan etc who do very good deals with aftermarket parts.

If they come back as a decline, give me a call and I will sort a quote for you.

Called my own insurer as I got a quote from Admiral with parts declared for 660, said they could match it if details the same. So after much faffin about, internet quote jumped to £757, my insurer went from 759 up to 900

But matched the lower quote so saved £2 from the initial renewal but £140 with updated details and mods declared so. Not too bad considering the cost of insurance has went up 40%
