Default Track Day Cover - to and from the track?

Is it possible to get track day cover for a one day event which also covers the drive to and from the track? The rest of the time the car wouldn't need to be insured as it'll be in the garage and isn't worth very much....

Failing this the next best idea would be to insure it third party only through spring/summer for 6 months and SORN it for the rest of the year. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance...

That would be ideal, i guess it would be classed as 2 seperate policies even if from the same insurer?

I think it would have to be two separate policies as trackday cover is normally blanket and pretty rigid, also in some cases a perk of an existing policy.

I'll have to have a phone around and see who covers what. We're not too fussed about track cover for the car it's self but for recovery, medical and legal piece of mind it's probably worth having for the sake of £50 or so.

Use one of the temp cover companies for the travel to and from the track, and www.moris.co.uk or www.reis.co.uk for track cover

Thanks, i'll give them a call with a few hyperthetical scenarios to get an idea.

We're still in the budgetting stages at the moment but i quite fancy a stripped out classic impreza on track with some semi-slicks, brake & suspension tweaks It'll keep me busy at the weekends.
