Default Insurance cover HELP!

Does anybody know of any insurance companies that can insure me on my Subaru STI i insured it last year with one years no claims and one theft claim declared where my car had its alloys stolen and caused 2k of damage to it in the process from my mondeo st tdci. so with the 1 years no claims and a theft claim my insurance on my scooby was 1300.00 fully comp,. but its up for renewal and this year i have had bad luck where it had an attempted theft where it was vandalised as a result where they couldnt steal it,. as its a rare v - limited 2003 sti. which had damage of over 4k which meant i lost my 1 year no claims bonus this was in june and now last week i hit black ice and my car was a potential write off from hitting a lamp post,. causing extensive damage which is currently in the assessment stages of around 5k,.
my insurance was up for renewal on 1st march and groupama who i am with through A-plan cannot reinsure me due to my history,. 2 of which were because of thieving scum bags causing around 7k of damage and one which just happened where the roads had not been gritted,. i dont want to have to store it away for a year whilst i build a NoClaims bonus,. any advice will be grateful even if i have to pay through the nose i have to be driving my pride and joy

I think your going to really struggle mate. As said, its also going to cost more than your cars worth to insure it. Time to put it away/sell it and build up some NCB. I know thats not what you want to hear, but its your best bet.

I will try ringing keith michaels tomorrow already thought of them but was told they dont touch people from manchester is this true?
Tell me about it i would have loved to of got hold of the T@#sers who tried to steal it,. if the damage was not so severe i would not of bothered claiming off my insurance, so you can imagine the extent of the damage they caused,. they put the back window through then put both feet against each door and pulled at the door handle, ripping it out and denting both doors, bent my steering wheel, smashed the ignition barrel and let the handbrake off letting it smash into a concrete bollard smashing the front end.
I really need to find someone to insure it though, bought a couple of magasines with brokers in the back that i can try but Aplan are one of the best so not holding out much hope

We can quote for Manchester, but it won't be cheap.... especially with those claims.

I understand your frustration! I have something simular. I havent had a claim in 18 years of driving but because I had a company car 18 month ago for 7 years, I only count as 1 years no claims even with a letter from the company car insurance company. Not fair when you get a 21 y/o gets insurance a lot less than me at 36!

Agreed

Fortunately we have several companies who use common sense and work their rates on your driving history/experience rather than just NCB

Thought you might to know about this little Gem I uncovered this week when I bought my first Subaru, a 2003 WRX, I am 27 with 5 years ncb and went to Aviva (Norwich Union) using their own website no comparison rubbish. They quotes me fully comp for £404 with the 26 yr old missus on too.

I then rang some 'specialist' insurers from mag and also a sponsor on here ad no one could touch it, next closest was £585 then £910!!!!

Worth a shot guys I would suggest.

Would also say that if you do get a runaround you keep hold of it when the Scoob goes back on the road so you can drive that through winter instead of yours.

Also look at renting a lock up to keep the car out of sight.

5t.
