Mines on the logbook as a 22b type uk! Im with Academy (the brokers) insured with Norwich Union and pay £570 fully comp with 6 years ncb, Age 27. I would imagine you paying £1500+ because of your age Hopefully im wrong

Was bored so went on confused.com and got a qoute for your age ncb and car.......... £2900 was the cheapest!!

A lot of imports are GL on the log book, mine is. Not sure why. But if your thinking you`ll insure it as a GL to get it cheap, dont bother. As you wont be covered on any claim.

Keith Michaels, A-plan, Academy................. Pick up the phone and play them off against each other, managed to save £230 by doing so.

Not sure on that mate. It would be a lot cheaper if you were on your parents insurance, but you dont get any ncb then.

Thats it yeah, i done it when i was 17 with a r5 gt turbo, it literally halfed the premium. Im not sure if they have tightened up on it now, the car may have to go in one of your parents name so they can insure it with you as a named driver.

To be honest i'd be surprised if anyone would insure on a JDM car at 21 let alone a Type R.

The main guys have already been mentioned Aplan(Thatcham) and keith micheals. give them a call but be sitting down down when they read out the amount, I'm 33, with 6NCB and the type r is £840 to insure. mind you it's far from standard!!!!

Don't go down the insurance on your parents policy, this won't cover you if your the main driver, if you have an accident the acceser will just asked your neighbours whos car it is.

Buy a Uk turbo and build up your NCB
