It's not worth the risk of not declaring, all it takes is some ignorant, illegal, immigrant to run into you and you'll lose everything as you won't be insured either.
For good price insurance check out the insurance section, but Keith Micheals and A-Plan seem to be the best. I've been with A-Plan for 3-years and get a great price with all m mods declared

i asked my insurance company if i had to declare the decals on my car to which i was told that i have to.so if you don't bother you run a big risk of them not paying out.when i insure my scoob i tell them i have various mods and to be honest i don't see much difference in price.

Just to give you an idea...decat remap, fuel pump, front splitter, uprated discs/ pads/ uprated anti roll bars and droplinks, an extra £100 . So £100 for all that. Its a no brainer.....

lmao, im with gary at keith micheals, alwasy haras him for the cost change on my insureance before i have anything done and then go form there, if its not stupid, or im happy to pay the extra then away you go, if not then you dont get it done, simple as. i've found with gary alot of things make no difference to the insurance cost, was only when i added about 4 grands worth of mods and jacked the power up by 80bhp that it made any sort of difference and then it was only about £40 ish.

A-Plan seem to be ok with all mods I have declared, only issue I have is that the company they have me with at the moment won't insure with to many mods, but they did offer to refund outstanding insurance if I changed to another company. I have decided to wait until renewal then decide what to do.

I'm with Gary at Keith Michaels and he put me through highway (he has his own WRX insured with them). Gave me what i thought was a good quote it was £400 cheaper with mods then anwhere else and like for like cover. I was getting crazy renewal quotes around £1500 but he did it for £950.
Well worth a call if you ask me!

adrain flux beat keith micheals renewal and you only pay 10 months for the price of 12 plus you get free break down recovery which i have found to be really good also you can add a lot of mods on and the price dont go up

greenlight with exhaust, intake, remap, wheels, spoiler, stereo, datamonitor, less than £600. keith michaels wouldn't quote me because i wouldn't give them a renewal quote from my old insurer.

God, I hope nobody on here is an English teacher
To the O.P.
Sure, don't bother declaring your mods. But come claim time, you'll have voided your insurance policy. A nice police man armed with 6 points and a fine will also probably zap you for the pleasure of running with void insurance.
It's a no brainer, don't even contemplate running bent as thats all it is.

Pls try and avoid Highway on any policy I had a living hell for over a year and it took them 12 months to fix my car and it was done to such a bad standard that they refitted a brake line upside down which had a dangerous hole in it and the car had to be resprayed numerous times.
I can fill you in more if you need but do yourself a favour, I got A Plan to do the same price but underwritten by someone else.

I declared all mods and didnt go up one bit. So all good really.
But as you say if you dont then its your lose. I'd rather spend that little extra then not at all.
Its sort of like buying tyres, you buy cheap ones, but is your life really worth so little

Definately declare your mods, its just not worth taking the risk. I very recently added over 20 mods to my policy and it only went up £120 and that included a admin fee. I'm with A-Plan by the way.
