Default not what i was expecting.....

current policy with ecar runs out in december, and im fully paid up with monthly instalments so thought id visit the site to get an idea of a renewal price.

bare in mind, two claims have been made. one was a non fault, which all costs have been recovered. second was a my fault, but no costs recovered from their insurers.

all mods declared, suspension, decat, thats about it.

£3852

if thats what comes through my post in the next couple of months, they can suck my big floppy donkey di**

surely someone could give me a quote around what im paying now.

also, as the insurance is payed up, can i start hunting around now, or do i have to wait until the end of the policy?

Get shopping around mate, it's not too much of a problem.

Different companies will only honour their price for a short period after the quote, some are 30 days, some a 90 days, so worth checking.

I got my best quotes of admiral and A-plan for my last renewal, and A-plan have some flex to beat other quotes which is why I am with them.

I think you can cancel your policy at anytime, but they may only reimburse you a percentage of your premium. I`m sure someone will clarify.

I usually start phoning round about a month before for quotes. it gives you a general idea on what you maybe paying.
But one call to Gary Moulson, saved me quite a lot on my last insurance.
Give him a bell. He knows his Scoobs. Unlike some other numpties I have spoken to on the phone.

That's spot on mate, and it's worth banging your details into moneysupermarket.com or on of those sites just to get a feel for what to expect realistically, £4k is way over the top and it's probably just the company's way of saying we don't want your business as we don't like the risk anymore.

Gary is good although he couldn't touch A-plan's quote this year. Was the best quote I had last year though.

Also worth considering that Gary's usually very busy seeing as everyone with a Scoob wants to get hold of him, so the sooner you try the more likely you'll get a quote before your old policy runs out
He can be difficult to get hold of but is usually worth it when you do. As previously mentioned A-Plan is usually worth a call too.

well before on my current premuim, i payed a £385 deposit with 8 payments of about £185, which included the apr bollocks for monthly installments.

so with a premuim of £1250ish, i assume a deposit of £300ish and montly payments of about £120-130 is about right.

extra money saved means no more silly credit card expenditure, and il save for things instead old fashioned way.

just checked over details etc on the net with my policy. £249 deposit and 9 months @ £135. obviously pay and extra £££ for monthly instalments, but havent the expendable cash for one lump sum.

basically before it was £400 deposit and 9 months @ £185-6

£50 a month is good for me and a smaller deposit too.

boobies
