Got my renewal through from Bell Direct today and saw that the model was quoted as an 'Impreza P1 (Import)'. I didn't think that the P1 was available to anywhere other than the UK!

I called them up stating that the car was a UK model and that I would like to have this updated on my policy. I din't think that I would get anything out of it seeing as I was quoted £1092 with me being 26.

To my great delight they came back to me saying that the fact it wasn't an import meant that the quote dropped £130, putting my insurance below a grand. Strangely enough Bell said that the UK P1 was 1 insurance group higher than the 'import' but that it was still loads cheaper because imports are still an 'unknown'.

 

Eehhhhhh ?!?!

Someone at Bell has been on the xmas bottles in the fridge...

Good to see you got it sorted but make sure they really do know what they are insuring !!!

"Imported P1's an unkown" ?!? That's a new one !!

That's just what I thought but I did double check with them that it was a UK P1 that they were quoting me for and they then went through the usual insurers spec with me.
