Cool

I have recently changed the wheels on my MY93 WRX (import) for 17" ones, and I rang up Barclays to find out how much the insurance will rise by - £68 which ain't that bad!

I then asked about other modifications, as I am changing the exhaust and rear spoiler. They said that as long as the total cost of my modifications does not rise above £1k, then my premium shouldn't go up by much! Nothing about how much BHP (and thus percieved speed = desirability = 'nickability') - just as long as I don't go over £1k total!

Should I be concerned? Am I likely to find myself with a huge premium increase, even though I was told it "won't be much"?

Just call me Mulder - but I trust no-one when it comes to money!

Don't know about the no new imports - it seems to be different depending on who you speak to, I had a decentish skyline quote from barclays and they were quite happy to do jap imports... Strange eh!

Cool

Told me that I can have upto 10% power increase from exhaust alone and dont bother telling them if I swop bits in and out as long as I dont exceed 10% increase over standard.

I had a different version again, as long as its not over 10% bhp increase I was told no extra would need to be paid........

Interesting to read about no imports, i'm in my second year with them, wonder if they are just not taking on any new risks but will do repeat business....

This was certainly the case at CIS who wouldn't touch me but were happy to take my friends money on his wrx but he has beeen with them for about 7 years now.
