Default New Wheels = Increased Premium?

I am about to change my 17" WRX rims for a set of new 18" PFF7's.
When I called A-Plan about it last week the said they wanted another £90 for the rest of the year (Until next February) and the premium will also increase next year.

"It makes it more likely to be stolen" was the quote I was given, has anyone else come across this and does that sound an average figure

TIA...D-an-W

Plus.. as far as we're aware the main A-Plan Underwriter for Subaru's replaces modified parts with standard parts & does NOT offer like-for-like cover for mods

At Greenlight, our underwriters sometimes charge for alloy wheels, but keep it in perspective by looking at the standard subaru wheel cost against the cost to replace your wheels & would only charge if at all based upon the value difference.

We would also include like-for-like cover on the alloys.

So... if at renewal, your premium goes the wrong way log onto www.greenlightinsurance.com and we'll see if we can help

Kind regards

Tony

I got it reduced to £25.75, I asked them several times if it was like for like cover also and was assured it was...My mods are only PPP (Supplied by Subaru) and PFF7 rims, again supplied by Subaru.
