Im 23, 99T reg Turbo, 3 Points and ive just bitten Tesco's hand off cos...... wait for it..... £850!!!!! Fully Comp, dont know if its just me but for the car and my age I think that is Amazing. Its only £250 excess and has £1000 stereo cover etc.

defo worth giving them a try folks

Do you have a tracking device fitted ?? Tesco's do insist on one.

There seems to be a bit of confusion within Tesco about the tracker requirement, but I am led to believe that they will insist upon it.

no tracker at mo.... need to get one fitted, im just trying to find cheapest. But I thought it was way cheaper than paying £1500 without a tracker! and I have the added security of a tracker so thats a bonus..

dont think I would of got it cheaper anywhere, not at my age.

Cool

I phoned Tesco and got a quote for £770 - I'm 22 with 5yrs no claims on a 97MY turbo.

However - Tesco eventually decided to tell me that a tracker would be required due to the type of car when I phoned them back to check the details.

I finally went with Keith Michaels for £1200.

Question

I'm sorry but am I missing something here. With the extra you are going to pay it would have paid for a tracker

OK I realise you'll still have to fork out for the subscription but still the added piece of mind and for future insurance it will make a difference. Just MHO

Ummmm....I would have gone with Tescos....and fitted a Tracker also...

...however one bonus I suppose, is next year the Tracking systems will probably have come down in price again...so you can get one fitted then...

Yeah, I could of got insurance for around that price without a tracker, but if you pay 1200 its 1200 down the drain, where as if you pay 800 then a further 300 on a tracker its cheaper and 300 of it is an investment, cos next year the insurance will be cheap and you wont have to buy a tracker, so mega savings!! (plus you can never have to much security). Thats what I thought anyway so im getting a tracker fitted next week...

Unhappy

Yeah point taken!!

It was just a combination of Tesco's not being able to
make their mind up whether they wanted a tracker or not, plus
adding £300 onto £770 then the subscription put me off.

Just looking short-term I suppose.

Yes, but Tom, you're trying.

(insert punchline here)

Seriously, many thanks for all the efforts, they are most appreciated. It's this bloody dodgy area I live in, apparently. People who live here have a propensity to drive into trees, or something like that...

Regarding Axa, they really don't like modifications. "Change your brake setup and we'll cancel insurance, sir" is their helpful approach to a safety upgrade.
