Can anyone help and let me know who insured your euro import.

Some companys say we don't insure imports even though it's the same as a uk spec..

Gary,

My MY00 Euro import is insured with Direct Line. When I got the quote I explained it was an import from Holland and that it was exactly the same spec as a UK. I got the impression from the call that they were o.k. with Euro imports and they were already clued up about euro imports being the same or equivalent to UK spec.

Direct Line also proved to be the cheapest for me.

Damian.

My experience with a Dutch car has been that most insurers are now getting more accustomed to the idea of parallel imports from Europe (not so keen on 'greys' from Japan, though), and treat them the same as UK cars. Though you must emphasise that it is a Euro car to avoid any future arguments.

I got my best quote from quotelinedirect.co.uk. Direct Line were fairly close, as were Tesco, though they required a tracker system.

Gary,
mines insured thru 'WHATCAR' (aka "royal/sun alliance), no problems with Euro Imports (a euro import shouldn't really cause a problem to an insurance company). just stress that it is a 'parallel' import i.e. UK SPEC (and keep on stressing it !!)
at the mo, can't find contact details, it you want them -- let me know

I've had mine insured with both Tesco and Direct Line, MY00 with 17" & colour coded & sti V rear wing. As mentioned both companies like trackers, I think it depends on your postcode whether they are a requirement though.
Worth phoning *Rum - schofield insurance as he was pretty close to the above for me.
