Question

The Laserline Alarm that the Subaru dealers fitted to the Scoobies as an option in 1996 through to 1998 and maybe still do, anyone know whether they are Thatcham approved and what model number they are?

Also the same for the Cobra Immobiliser?

The alarm fitted to my late MY96 is not Thatcham approved but the immobiliser is Cat2
You will have to get it inspected by a Thatcham approved installer and get a certificate (£20-25)

I have a Laserline 996V2 fitted from new by the dealer (John Wildings) to my '98 Wagon.

Combined with the factory immobiliser the 996V2 is cat 1 approved (I had to send the original installation certificate to my insurer which they returned with my docouments).

Well I think looking at the toad website that Andrew Timmins added it looks to be a Laserline 290i which is as you say AndrewC
a cat 1 upgrade combined with the cobra cat 2 immobiliser.

So it sounds like I need to get it inspected and a certificate is all it as it should be
