Cool

Just phoned round some of the so called cheaper insurers yesterday heres what i got....

car My00 no mods Garaged.Me 34 male Wakefield post code. NO convs/accs 5YRs No claims not protected.

Churchill £575.69 +10% for monthly payments
(age 30+ only)
Norwhich Union .....Too bloody busy (8 times i wrang ,Got sick of the answer message telling me to wait then saying sorry everyones busy, i ask you such a big concern needs more ops staff) so Tough they lost a possible customer....
Greenlight £750 Not really competitive
AA after much discussion re security
"sorry sir will have to put it to our Brokers"
RAC £773.09 Not really Competitive

Zurich/Eagle star My current insurer Would not tell me what my new premiums would be (only 4.5 weeks to renewal...they should know)But likely the renewal form would turn up giving me only about a week before that date to sort it out....

SO the winner is

NFU
National farmers union
Because i was treated like a person (Bloody hell !) not like a petrol swilling MAD MAX Villan......and the cost
£561 W/out Protection £644 With plus 2% (NOT 10% Churchill...Hello u listening)for monthly payments.

Regardless i recommend NFU it was a complete breath of fresh air the way it was dealt with.

Ask for Karen ,she Knows what she's talking about ,Top Lass....

BR

Well I'd agree 100%

Used 'em for the first time last July onwards - 1st class service so far - however renewal is coming up & that's the real test isn't it??

One word of caution for other reading; NEVER use a local NFU office - always their direct sales operation (or post onto thier web site - THEY will ring YOU in under an hour).

Cool

On the mods front Karen did say that Nfu was open to negotiation as to what mods were carried out, then would the brakes require upgrading to be in line with the modification........Quite sensible really.

Thumbs up

I'm insured with NFU and just added a Magnex back box. It was refered to the underwriters, no increase in premium.

They were much cheaper than everyone else for my insurance and it includes european and track day cover.

Wink

Being a new scooby owner, I rang round for some daft quotes. I live in Middx. just out of a comapny car scheme (allowed 4yrs NCD), driving for years. The cheapest quote I got, and don't laugh, was with Tesco Car Insurance .... £640. Not as cheap as the NFU I know, but the best I was offered.

Just thought I share it with you.
