17 year old needs insurance
A friends son has got a Fiat punto 1.1 and his best quote has been £1600 TPFT and thats in a low risk area. Anyone know where he could get it cheaper?
Thanks.
Thanks.

It may not be cheaper to start off with, but if he does Pass Plus some insurers will give a big refund. We did this on j.r-xrs's car and received a very nice cheque when he completed it. He's with Norwich Union.

Hi
Pass plus is a very sound idea and will save a good deal of premium. As well as Norwich Union try Quoteline Direct and Privilege but be prepared to ring them as the Pass Plus discounts don't show up on their websites.Quoteline Direct also offer 6 and 8 month policies with a one year NCD provided you then take out a 12 month policy with the same company
Best of luck

Hey fella,
Go for elehant.co.uk, put the mum or dad on as a named driver (mum will prob make it cheaper) they are prob the best around for someone that age, if you want to start own no claims
Alternatively go with CIS (CO-OP) and use there any driver policy, have the insurance in the mum or dads name (cleaner liscence the better obviously). I did this, had a 1.8 Rsi clio at 17 whilst learning to drive no no claims fully comp any driver £1200 per year, then went to a Puma 1.7 at 18 and the insurance with 1yrs no claims was £1100 so it can be very cheap. Plus alloys and b/box do not increase your premium with them.
..... oh and I did not do the Pass Plus.
Good luck and happy shopping
Nic.
