Is there a limit to the number of times a car is written off?
A friends fiesta (1996 n reg) had been written off for uneconomical repair and bought back from the insurance company, repaired and put back on the road. Its now had another knock and we think it may be written off again as the damage is similar to before. Can it be bought back again or is the car deemed unsavable?

yes you will be able to purchase it again, if it is fixable and have it on the road again, the only reason they write them off is because it would cost more then its worth to repair it, it dosent meen you cant do it up yourself.
this will always be the case until at some point it becomes irrepairable, or simply just not worth it.

Some insurance companies have a 'two strikes' policy; so you may be out of luck. This is a fact as opposed to a matter of conjecture; but as my experience relates only to sports prestige salvage I dont know whether it is often applied to more run of the mill cars.

yes,, agree with GC8 - used to dabble with salvage in years gone by (of the "whisper mode" - Vauxhall variety), and came across the same policy many times......................sometimes you would get "break only" cars that had had two small knocks/theft damage that were in far better condition than cars you were supposed to be able to repair!?!
and they wonder why 'ringing' is still rife??! as long as they get their money its not a problem anyway is it!!!!!!!!!!!!
