Thumbs up Elephant are great!

Elephant.co.uk were good...i paid around £850 for a brand new MY03 on my 25th birthday with 2 years no claims, with my sister as a named driver (made it cheaper!). It's all online so if you change the details it's £6 to get new docs, but they are well worth checking out....part of the Admiral group, so nice people too!!!
Haven't run the intended mods past them yet though.....

Mine is up for renewal next month so did a quote online with Elephant and couldnt believe how cheap it was. They phoned me the next day to ask if the quote was competitive and willing to discuss further discounts once I have received my renewal.

Will definitely call them back once I receive my renewal quote!

I can also give the thumbs up for elephant. I moved and Adrian *** withdrew my insurance. Contacted elephant and it was no problem even insured the new WRX with no problem. However I have no experience of claiming.

Just done a quote with them as if I was 23 (which will be in 2 months) and they quoted me £1,769

Would this price come down any if the vehicle i was buying had a tracker.

I've tried Tesco who I'm told should be cheaper but they wont quote me until I'm 23, and their online thing wont gimme a quote. Grrrrrr

I phoned elephant just over a year ago and they wanted about £4000 for myself and wife, 30, full NCB, import wrx, cat 1.

Although Confused (who definitely were) quote £8000, and still had the nerve to ask if I wanted to go ahead with the policy (SLMAO)

Liverpool Victoria got my attention for £635

The problem is I suspect L&V will be the same as pretty much everywhere else, as in I must be over 25 for them to quote me.

So far only Elephant will quote me.......and supposedly Tesco will as well, but have no idea of the cost involved?

I've been trying Elephant every year since they started and have never found them to be competitive. I'm 32 with full NCB and had my Beemer with Sainsburys. They refused to insure my Scooby so I went with LV. They were £200 better than anyone else at £580. Have also heard that Halifax is good but can't confirm.

One thing to note about elephant is that although they allow modifications (sometimes for a premium), the cost or replacement of the mods is not covered. They will only replace standard parts. Just something to think about. Hopefully, none of you will ever need to claim

A Friend of mine crashed her 2.8 Z3, worth about 15 grand or so. Elephant offered 11 and wont come above. She sent evidence of the same spec of car from auto trader. They countered with evidence of a 1.9 Z3, no leather, no air con, nothing like the car she had.

Just dont crash

I had a claim with Elephant in April 2002 in my 2001 WRX wagon.

Full blame (I was f**ked over by the local filth!!), value £1000.
Claim handled flawlessly from start to finish.

Previous premium was £1000; renewal came in at £2000

So I switched to driving a Volvo & a Land Cruiser for the next 2 years; but just took delivery of a new STI UK MY04.

Premium from Elephant?? Including declaring full details of previous claim (obviously; as it was them that handled it!!)??

£730.

Age 31, 1 years NCB, clean licence, very low risk theft area.

They get my vote
