Default insurance quotes

hi im thinkin about buyin a import wrx on an m plate, its got a cat 1 and tracker fitted but im gettin stupid quotes of 1300 quid for tpft, im 27 been drivin 8 years with 1 accident 3 years ncb and ive been drivin a 230bhp escort rs turbo for the last year and my ins on that is only 454 quid tpft and includes track day cover and third party on any other car, also been quoted 850 quid for a 330bhp cossie

anyone know of any companies that would quote me a grand or less on a wrx import? ive tried greenlight and ardrian flux and they want 1300 plus and they didnt even bother to ask what cover i wanted or milage/security fitted

cheers az

Anyway, if you are serious, some of these numbers may help clicky

my first post was on the 8th of feb and second was on the 12th, so hows that 2hrs apart? it seems to me that most insures dont like covering people with scobbies if there under 30 yet a real car ie driven at the rear wheels cossies, bmw's etc are cheaper to insure but are more likely to be involved in an accident due to people taking bends to fast in the wet and loosin it, a 280bhp scoob faster than a 280 bhp 2wd saff? dont think so, the scoob would be faster in the bends but 4wd loses more power as its transmitted through the system, ive been in a 280bhp sti and we raced a mates 275 bhp saff and lost (not down to the driver ethier as they swapped cars and the scoob lost again) rs cheap ****es?? how come my 88 rst is worth 3 grand (agreed valuation on condition of the car) 3 door cossies dont go much less than 5.5k, rs500's are about 11-15k and both are 18 years old!! esc cos dont drop below 10k (k to n reg) yet u can pick up a 93 uk scoob for 3.5 k!!!! but it will cost u almost half that to insure the ******, the wrx import (260bhp one) i was gonna buy is mint yet its only valued at 6k and is an m reg, how much is that gonna be worth in 18 years time? anyway im off i got myself a 330 bhp 3 door, (proven on the rr) and its only cost me 855 quid to insure

well enjoy it till it falls apart......

then when you can afford to run a real car pop back and have a chat

certain fords have over the top value cos they are cheap as chips to insure, where as real cars have a real value and a real insurance figure for what you are buying.....

other thing with your quotes above is you are comparing modified fords to std scoobys, climb in a modded scooby and then you will see what its all aboout........ we can all turbo a nova

i can afford to run a propper car hence why i bought the cos, i just begrudge payin over the top money to insure something thats slower and will depricate more than a cos, cossies arent over priced its just scoobs are common as muck and the market is flooded with em and they keep bring out different versions so the old ones depricate very quickly, what scoob can u modify to 700+ bhp for less than 30k including buying the car? where have i compared a std scoob against a modded cos ? the only comparin i done was on ins and a modded cos is cheaper to insure, fords dont just fall apart, if there not looked after they will have problems same as any other car, im sure if a scoob wasnt looked after properly ud have problems with it , dont mock novas ive seen a 2lt 16v one race a scoob and a cos and it whipped there asses upto 130 mph and it only cost a grand to build lol, thats what its all about buyin a cheap car and makin it faster and showin people who spend loads buyin a high performance car that they can get whipped by a little old nova, love the look on their faces when ur up their *** all the way to 140 lol

sorry i disagree, if thats what it was all about then we would all be in novas and fiestas.

you advance through cars as you grow up / have more money.

you start with a fiesta or nova, then you buy your RS turbo, then maybe a cosworth, then into the market of scoobys and evos, then ulimatly you own a nissan skyline r34, which in my opinion is one of the best cars ever built, and its japanese too

you may well be able to build a quick nova, or cossie, but they are only good in straight lines for the max power 1/4 mile stats, so thay can print "*** tastic" at the side of it...........
A scooby wrx will see em all off the road anyday of the week on a twisty country lane, and that is what drivings all about, not a 1/4 mile race which would never exist in an everyday race on the open road!!!!!

wasnt sayin novas are better just cheap to make faster and wipe smiles off faces of high performance car drivers, skylines are straight line machines, there really bad when it comes to bends, id a have evo any day much better than a scoob, id like to see a scoob up against a esc cos both 4wd and the cos was specificly built for rallying and racing and the engines were designed and built by cosworth who have built loads of race cars including f1 engines, and ford actually got them to detune the engines for road use, hence why for 200 quid u can get a 70 bhp increase whats the most power someones got out of a scoob for 30k inc buyin the car? martin handlands esc cos does 195 mph and has a 0 to 60 time of 3.2 (same as a mclaren f1) and cost 30k to build and he done it all himself, also u havent answered my question about where i supossedly said about std scoobs and modded cossies? might help if u read the reply properly before posting

cosworth built for rallying, what do u thing an impreza turbo is, a granny car.

what are you doing on here if all uve got to say after 1 post is abuse for the subaru.

how can a bike out corner a car???? ive seen and r1 with a world superbike champ racing a 911 around a track with a touring car driver in it (not a champ like the bike rider) and at each corner the 911 over takes the bike and the 911 wasnt even the top of the range one!!! i was told by someone whos really into there jap cars that the impreza was built as a road car then adappted to be a rally car where as the esc cos was specifically designed for rally/race hence why the only parts it shares with a normally mk5 escort is the roof and doors, everything else is diffenent, impreza a granny car !! u said it lol mostly driven by peeps over 30 who cant handle a rear wheel drive car! any scooby owners in southhampton who see a cos behind them tonight better move aside and let me pass, no point embarrisin urself lol see ya

if its an advancement then why dont bmw's, skylines and most supercars have it? and a 4wd car is slower round a dry race track than a 2wd car, on a normal road 4wd isnt really needed, its only really needed for off road ie rally cars and to get across fields and up steep muddy hills, hence why subarus are a farmers favourite lol, plus u can fit half a dozen sheep in the back if ur into that sort of thing lol

lol, skylines are 4 wd u muppet.....

yes round a track u do lose sumat through the drivetrain, but on a road its a big help.

go take a scooby for a drive in the wet, then you will see the advantage.
