I'm thinking of doing a track day.
Should I get insurance?
Should I go through my insurer - and if I do could it affect renewals/valuation in event of any future claim?
Am I better going to a separate company?
Any comments welcome.

1st yes you should get insurance.
2nd You better check with your insurance company, to see if they cater for that option to be added to your policy. If they do and you make a claim it will still affect your no claims discount.
3rd the tracks where these events are held usually provide trackday insurance at a fee, so give them a ring also.
