Just got my renewal quote through fromm Admiral. Looked the same as last year. So gave them a phone, thought I better mention my recent SP30. Yeah fine that'll be another £950 please. I hope this isn't the start of a new rip-off trend.

sg72 you should tell them to **** right off, i'm with Kieth Michaels, when i phoned them to tell them i'd got caught with an sp30, they just laughted and said don't worry your first three are free. Give them a call my cars a jap import though !!

Yep thats just what I did. Contacted L+V. £770 all in Fully comp.guaranteed No claims. Thats on an STI vers 5 Type R V-ltd.Well sorted.

Just had my renewal from direct line from £550 to £875 fully comp and protected no claims the full works checked with l&v got the same cover for £475 guess who got my cash need I say more.

Sg72....did you tell L&V it was a Type R?

I tried them for my RA and others I know have tried for R's and they say they dont have them on their system so cant quote!

Also, another member on here (think it was MegaStream) actually spoke to a manger there who said emphatically that they dont cover R's or RA's and anyone who has one that is insured with them, isnt properly covered!!!

I'd check with them to be on the safe side...
(Incidently, if you DO find that this is NOT the case, then take the persons name and give me a shout back!!)

Yep.thought i'd better phone to check. Seemed ok. Did mention 2-door Type R and was told should be alright.I had originally got my quote off the Net but that apprears to have stopped. It is actually Frizzel who the policy is with. I am 45 years young Dunno if that has anything to do with it............or Hey! lifes a gamble.
