It's my annual insurance round-up:

Current insurer (Greenlight) : 850ish
Privilege : 1200 (I laughed!)
AA : 980
Liverpool Victoria (300 XS) : 722
Liverpool Victoria (400 XS) : 621
(I couldn't see the point in phoning anyone else after this)

So, another win for LV. I like high excesses; I've never had an accident that's my fault; if it isn't my fault I'll get the excess back and if it is my fault losing the excess might encourage me to be more careful!

Details are:

MY00, not modified. AL (Hatfield/St Albans area) postcode, kept in a garage. Tracker Monitor (although LV weren't that bothered), 7 years no claims, 1 SP 30 two years ago, no accidents in last 5 years. Fully comp, protected no claims. Just me to drive (29), SDP and class 1 business ues, no mileage limit in year.

Question

Would you have the telephone number for Liverpool Victoria?

I'm with Privilege at the moment and they are charging me £1500 with two people on the insurance (going to go up £300 approx when i get the car PPP). The insurance is not up for a while but it would be useful for when i do need to renew my insurance.

Cheers

Thumbs up

Hi NickP

My insurance is up for renewal in a couple of weeks and I was gutted to see Greenlight adding £200+ to my premium! That's after a very very boring year with only a TSL backbox to speak of and no incidents or accidents! Plus, after checking last year's policy I had insured my MY00 Turbo for £18k!!! Now I check in Parkers to find it going for, at best, £13k!

Think my next job should be in insurance!!! ;-)

Will give LV a call when I get to doing the rounds for renewals shortly!!

Talking

After about 40 phone calls, I have opted for LV for the P1, I had a claim for vandalism on the P1 this year and they have given me a better quote (£1246) against £1312 from Adrian Flux (Sun Alliance).

I live LV, they include a lot of good policy features as std, others charge :

- courtesy car
-24 hour claims service
- auto cover for Europe (you don't even need to tell them that you are going)
- legal cover
- 14 day money back
- NCD upto 9 years !

Don't underestimate the value of some of these features, most others charge for it. I'm pretty pissed with Flux as they set me up with Sun All - they work on a 4 year NCB scale, I went to them with 6 years, had the claim, and now I am down to 2 !

If I had been with LV I would have been ok

Worst quote I had was 8.5k !

Good point about egg - will give them a spin and see if they can beat the quote from LV I got today (less than my current renewal at £690!!!)
