Default Newage Uprated Door Speakers

I'm after some recommendations for uprated front and rear door speakers suitable for newage Impreza models.

After refitting the dash and head unit back into my car today I'd forgotten how truly awful the sound is from the factory speakers, much like rattling stones in a tin can comes to mind.

In the past I've had Morel uprated components fitted to the front doors, plus uprated speaker wiring and the doors sound deadened and the difference to standard was night and day.

I'm not really wanting to spend too much in terms of going for Morel again as you certainly pay for the privilege of owning their products, so what can you recommend?

I don't mind fitting adaptor rings for the speakers but I don't really want to go much further than that in terms of installation adaptations necessary.

Thanks, does anyone have any alternative suppliers of sound deadening material other than Dynamat?

I'd forgotten just how expensive their products are or who does the best deals on Dynamat?

True, but I don't think a couple of sheets of sound insulation, some extra wiring and two extra speakers qualifies the car as being in need of a diet.

I'd rather have no ICE than put up with the factory speakers for much longer.

Go to B&Q and buy some aluminium backed flashing tape. Comes in rolls of various sizes, but £20-£30 will do all four door easily. Possibly less. Its meant for roof repairs, and it is what everybody used before Dynamat came along. its sticky backed bitumen with thin aluminium sheet on the other side.

All the guys who have paid for Dynamat are now going to chime in about "you get what you pay for" and "do it right the first time" but take my word for it, this stuff does the exact same job, with the same results, for less than a quarter the price.

Yeah it does make a difference. If you have subs in the boot it is less noticeable, but if you are relying on the door speakers for bass, sound deadening helps a great deal.
