Standard Panny head unit has started loosing it settings. Any idea's why.

And what is a good *AFFORDABLE* replacement if needed. Read not £300+ just for the remote and more for the unit.

This is the removable Panasonic set? - Does it lose the settings when you remove it from the car and leave it overnight?

There is a backup battery in them, maybe outside in a little black box (can't remember)...dunno if you can change them..

Maybe worth a call the Subaru (UK) Parts Accessories on 0121 522 2000 to see if they sell the backup batteries or if they have come accross this problem before.....lets face it there a few thousand early Impreza's out there!

They have been very helpful to me in the past.
