Could the audio wizards amongst us please let me know what the following buttons do on my Sony head unit.
PTY – This brings up al sorts of things like pop music, news, classical, etc
ATT – reduces the volume ?
BL Skip – a cassette feature ?
ATA ?

PTY - (=program type?) A feature of RDS and will tune into a station broadcasting that type of music - if the station also broadcasts this information.

ATT - (=Attenuation) A bit like a mute button which drops volume to a background level if you need to hear like paying at a toll booth.

ATA - not sure but TA on most stereos activates travel bulletins to interupt whatever you are listening to.

Not sure about the other thing, I would only be guessing.

BL Skip - is Blank Skip for the cassette.. it automatically fast forwards over long blank sections of tape.. ie. the ends.
