Can anyone tell me how to fit a pr of 6x9" speakers in the back shelf of my WRX.

How do I get the seat out of the way etc, etc?

Thanks in advance

Richie.

What is the best model 6x9" Speaker to go for?

I dont want to spend a fortune and tend to favour the JBL GTO 963. Are these still decent??

Thanks again, Richie

I can't comment on those particular speakers, but I have the top-of-range JBL 6x9's and they are ACE

Have to add my bit.

Lees 6x9s were v impressive, but if you do intend to fit a sub (and can upgrade your front spekears - see Lee) then remove rear speakers altogether and have dedicated sub for bass.

Do them in stages whatever, just remove them whenyou have a sub and front spekears.

I'm not sure I agree with Adam!

That said I think all systems need a subwoofer, and not some go between!

Hmmm, now to get the subs in phase!! That's another problem! - Cheers Lee and Adam

I have to say I heard Lee's system today, and they do carry a lot of bass! If you're not interested in getting a sub, then they would fit the bill very well!

Cheers

Thumbs up

Cheerz Lads

I should just point out (for Richie's benefit)..mine accept upto 150W RMS, and although they have a very impressive efficiency you NEED an amp. I ran them off a 4x55W head unit for 10 seconds and nearly sent them back !! I use a 4x60W RMS Amp to drive these and the fronts.

Andy.

Subs aren't practical for everyone, as I cart loads of gear round in my boot all day.
6x9's are an ideal compromise.

Stef.

Yes I'd definitely agree with that.

For me boot space was an important consideration - I bought a fibreglass/mdf box from auto audio (subworx) in manchester..it snugly fits in the rear quarter..I still have a nice square space left.

Lee, have you got contact details for them?
Also, where did you get the matching carpet from, did they supply that also?
