Amp cable and fuel lines
Just a quick question, is it ok to run the Amp cable along side the fuel lines under the protective plastic in my 97 Scoobie? Just a bit conserned about any side impact rupturing a line and splitting the cable (and blowing me up!!!).
I don't *think* they're fuel lines, I thought they were brakes. But anyhow, you're safe PROVIDING you fuse your amp power cable AS CLOSE TO THE BATTERY AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE, and definitely within 18 inches of the terminal.
Cheers,
Nick.

I'm not sure about this, but the fuel lines may STILL be run with the brake lines in those newer Scube's.
I'm into the older Subarus and they always ran the fuel lines with the brake lines, and I always ran my power cables on the other side.

Chod,
You'll be fine, I have a 4 gauge power cable running down the left side of my car it has not caused any problems, chill
Edited to say Chiark is right as long as you have fused the power cable near the battery terminal it will be fine, mine is fused about 6 - 8" from the terminal, plus its all fused at the other end via the distribution block.
