Hi
I am wiring up to an amp in the boot.

I have got all the cables from the headunit to the boot no problems using Chiarks excellent FAQ.

However - I'n now on the power cable and seem to be being a bit dim with working out where to put the wire.

I *think* I know which grommet (anyone got a pic so I could check?) but which way do i put the wire through (from inside to out or vica-versa)? How do I get access to the inside side of the grommet? (or do I need it?)

Sorry for being dim - first ever attempt at an ICE install. Knew it was going too well when I got all the cabling to the boot running down the footwells etc first time)

Cheers
Nick

OK - double urgent now - just put the wire over the car so I could test the rest of the cabling and tidy up the drivers side - and ..... WOW!!! what a difference.

Actually have some bass now - can feel it

Worth pointing out I've got aircon.

Wink

Run the power cable the same way you did with the signal ones, except not on the same side.

And get it throgh the firewall through the grommet above the pedal rack.

Okeedokee....

Fitted the power cable by pushing it through the same hole as all of the the other electrical cables go through (behind the i/c)and then running it down the passenger side of the car as advised.

It works !!!!

Unbelievable difference.

Of course now I need to Dynomat (sp?) everywhere cos it rattles like hell

Anybody know a good - cheap - source?

Thanks to all the people who've posted instructions to Scoobynet - especially Chiark.

PS: Don't tell me it shouldn't have gone through there... unless it shouldn't. Didn't have any other places to fit it though - apart from one (totally unused) hole near the turbo - but thought putting leccy cable there wasnt a top option.

Cool, glad it's sorted. My power line is going through next to the air conditioning grommet, the reason being it keeps the cable run shortest possible - the battery's on the passenger side.

As long as you're fused close to the battery (within 18 inches) you'll be fine.
