You need something with an aux input... Kenwood units can add an aux input by using an optional accessory - providing you have cd changer input.

Ok the difference between a version 1 and 2 -

The version 1's wired remote plugs into the top of the Mstation unit with a bit of a weedy plug. The version 2 plugs into the back of the carrier therefore not requiring the removal of aformentioned flimsey plug.

The version 2 has the buttons on the wired remote back lit so you don't have to fiddle around finding the right buttons!

As far as fitment to the standard head unit is concerned don't know but there are other posts about this if I remember.

If its the same as the MY01\02 WRX then no. You'll need to replace the head unit with one that has an aux in.

The stereo does have an autochanger input, can I use that.
Also a button on the stereo marked mcg which apparently is to select multichanger.

No and no. The mcg button is to select the multi changer you would be plugging in to the "autochanger" input.

MarkWRX has tested this and it is a resounding no no.

Just spoken with my local stero dealer and he said there is a Kenwood lead that converts the multichanger input into an auxillary input.
Any one used this idea?

I have the SCA-210 (I think) which allows me to use two CD changers and an aux input too.

I'm running the SCA210 too, with a changer added. The thing you are referring to is a CaC1ax, which does the same job, only without the ability to add changers etc.(about £25)

you still need a Head unit capable of aux input though, the OEM stereo will not work as it has no aux input.
