Will these fit?
I was going to go for some Infinity 605CS (or was it 602? I can never remember!) front component speakers.
However, I've been offered some Alpine DDC-R17H components for about half the price of the Infinitys. One of the guys at work has pulled them out of his last car before he sold it.
They are 6.5", so I'm wondering if they will fit as well as the Infinitys.
Are they in the same class as the 605s? I'm no audio expert, I just want something that sounds better than the standard crap Subaru have lobbed in!
Cheers,
Chris.

The 605cs's are good speakers, ask John. You need to know the mounting depth of the Alpines (which I'm not familiar with) to see if they'll fit, as long as they're not too deep they will either slot straight in or you'll need an MDF spacer. Search on both models and compare specs, but be warned second hand speakers could be thrashed

Steve.
In short, spend £93 on Infinity 605CS and amplify them. I have arsed around with Kenwood and Pioneer speakers before and wished I'd gone for the Infinity first. Have not heard these Alpines. Are you still running off a headunit - if so which?
They will sound nice, but undoubtedly much better when you do get an amp then - the Infinity 605CS I mean.
