Had the lovely Kenwood MP3 player, but sold it with my Scoob last month. (someone got a bargain car and ICE from Listers!)

Just seen the new Alpine MP3 player and it looks lurrrrverly. I've a HUGE soft spot for Alpine - love it.

Shame about the price @ £700 rrp.

Ooo, that is nice!

700 quid though! That buys a lot of CDs for normal audio burning!

True - although I LOVED my little Kenwood MP3 player - you could save stuff in folders and all sorts and it understood it! Great!

[Dance Folder]
[Chilled Folder]

etc...

It does MP3 for convenience and proper CDs for high quality.

Saying that, Alpine have invented some special feature that makes the MP3 sound as good as CD. I doubt it does, but it'll be interesting to hear it.

Personally, I really loved the fact I could cram more than 12 hours onto a single disc.

Definitely think is will support 192 and 256 bit rates - my Kenwood did as far as I can remember as thats the only MP3 files I had.

Does sound very nice. Doesn't say if it supports 192kbps - I think they sound much better than 128kbps, which many players are restricted to.
