Good CD head unit for Classic
OK I will freely admit that despite knowing heaps about domestic hi-fi I know next to nothing about car audio.
So I have a classic still with the OEM radio/casette player installed LOL!
I want to change the head unit for a decentish radio/CD head unit possibly with an IPOD connection too.
I also want to change the speakers.
My requirements are that the sound be as good as possible, but I don't wnat to break the bank. Would also like a unit where the illumination is sympathetic to the dash illumination in the classic.
Any ideas people?
TIA

H/U replacement is not at all complicated but....
You mentioned speakers.
Speaker replacement is well worth it but it's not necessarily simple to accomplish.Simplest approach is to replace the front speakers with 6.5" co-axial speakers. You need spacer rings to accomplish this and maybe have to butcher the factory speaker connectors a tad.
Best approach is to install an amp, run new speaker wires to the doors and install a 6.5" component set with separate crossover.
