Harness adapter from ebay or Halfords, single din pocket. You can get silver ones from a dealer, there was one in the for sale section here recently. You may need an aerial adapter plug as well depending on the headunit.

Most after market units these days come with an ISO wiring block, so all you need to do is get an ISO to Subaru adapter (harness) and bobs your uncle. I went from the OEM double din unit to a single Kenwod unit. I got a single din pocket from Halfords and mounted it along with the stereo using the brackets from the OEM unit, fitted perfect. The Kenwood didn't need an ariel adapter.

P.S. I'm about to go back to a double din unit, the Kenwood DDX5022

You can get sets off ebay or go to Halfords £20 max.

No, it's pretty easy - there are a few threads on here about how to do it, maybe something in the sticky.
