Default Amplifer/Sub compatibility question

A couple of questions for all you techhies out there:

I have a JBL GTO 6000 bridgeable amp max output 1100watt. I have 2 Infinity Kappa 627i front door speakers (225watt max) & an Alpine headunit with 2 preouts & sub controller. I am thinking of getting one 8" Kicker Solobarac sub (either LS7 or LS5) to fit in 0.65 cubic feet enclosure to sit in rear footwell.

1) The amp can be bridged 6/5/4/3/2 & can run 2 ohm or 4 ohm. I am thinking of running in tri mode so two speakers are amped & then can remaining power somehow be sent to the one sub. Can this work & will the amp be able to power the sub, & in which mode. I dont know much about bridged etc etc!

2)Also is the Solobarac subs too power hungury for my amp

3)Should I buy the 2 ohm or 4ohm solobarac sub?

Thanks

Ricky, in all fairness i would say your sub deserves it's own amp. I'd be inclined to get a SB amp designed for it. I'm not in front of a computer so can't look up your sub specs but i will tonight...

I think you'r right mate
Just spoke to Car Audio Security who said only the last two channels can be bridged on that amp & the power hungury Kicker solobaric will be underpowered Though they did suggest I would be better off with a different sub with less power requirements. I cant be arsed to monkey about with 1 mono block amp & another multi channel amp etc & would rather just stick with one amp in for everything. (neater & easier to take in & out) Also for my modest in car sound needs I think the Solobaric was overkill!!!!

I now think Im gona go for something like the Pioneer TS-SW841D. With this type of speaker it doesnt require much volume-enclosure to work well, so box will now be even stealthier at 0.31 cubic feet. (18"w x 4.5"h x 10"d external dimensions)

Ricky... this is the unit I was talking about the other day...

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/pro...s_id/8464.html

It's a little bit pricier but do save by having the amp/sub in one package. Tidy, lightweight, easy to fit and apparently quite effective. I'd have a listen and see if it sounds any good.... And I'm sure you could pick it up a little cheaper if you look around...

Then its a case of wiring up those infinitys to your JBL and you're done.
