parcel shelf speaker?

parcel shelf speaker?
Some help needed.
I have noticed that there looks like a space in the under side of the parcel shelf to fit some speakers.
Is there some sort of adaptor you need
if so what kind of speaker and size would i need
Oh i forgot to mention my scoob 2006 STI Spec D.
