I'm thick when it comes to stereo stuff, what do you mean by coaxial?

I have these in my car, 17cm, with autoleads adaptors I would assume;

I might learn something here.

Gotcha, learnt something new.

They're Pioneer's.

Bought them with the adapters off some one on here, fit fine and serve my purpose well, since the standard ones were split around the edges.

Think I remember reading somewhere on here that the required adapters for 17cm speakers are Corsa fitment.

Thumbs up

The ones in mine are 16.5 cm Sony Three Way, (tri-axial?), and are fitted via home made mdf spacers/adaptors.

I bought the autoleads adapters and they don't fit! They are only for newer cars not classics. What I did though was take out the original speakers and remove the speaker from the outside of it's casing (carefully using a hammer) and screwed the new 13cm alpine's into what was left of the original casing. works a treat. TBH it looks like the ones in micky's picture there have been done the same way.

Made my own adapters out of a MDF window sill (It was in my wood pile and happened to be the perfect thickness ), using the factory mount as a template.

This allowed me to fit a pair of 17cm 2 way Pioneers - need to be careful of basket depth though as they are pretty close to the window mechanism. A deeper basket speaker may foul the window. Simple job for anyone handy with a jigsaw, just prime and paint the MDF afterwards or it'll go mouldy.

I had to do exactly the same with my classic. I wish I had done that in the first place instead of buying the so called adapters of Ebay. I had to go for 13cm though as they fitted better.

Exactly what I did, used the OE Scoob mount as part of the design template, and the Sony template as the other
