Rear speakers
#1
Have been having problems with the rear speakers cutting in and out, the are pioneer jobbies I put in as a straight replacement.
On top of that, I was getting something out of the boot on Saturday (the stereo was on), and the sound was all distorted - the only way I can think to describe it is that it was like the speakers were playing under water
Any ideas out there?

Knackered connection, or knackered voice coil. To check voice coil, push speaker cone gently (making sure that you don't over extend it - I've seen someone rip the spider doing this) to the extent of its travel and return it smoothly back. It should not graunch, grind or sound like anything's catching. If something did sound awry, you've knackered the voice coil.
For connections, check the terminals foremost, then have a look at the back of the head unit to check that the ISO connector is still clipped in.
Beyond that, it's either still a knackered speaker, or dodgy wiring between the head unit and end - though the second is pretty unusual.
