Default Quick speaker question!

I've looked through the FAQ but still don't know if I can fit 16.5/6.5 inch speakers in the front of an 03 impreza. Are the originals 13.5cm? but will 16.5cm fit? I'm a bit confused as I'd like to buy either the Alpine 1325s or the 1725s depending on what will fit. Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks

I think only 13.5cm will fit mate I used Vauxhall corsa spacers.

6.5 inch fit fine, instead of the plastic spacers you will need to mount them on mdf which is better anyway. It's important not to get ones which are too deep. Check the sticky in this section for guides and some recommendations.

Thanks for that , the Alpines are 46 mm deep , will this fit ok onto 12 mm mdf? What depth are the original speakers?
Many thanks

Should be fine with 12mm mdf, mine are deeper than that with no problems.
