Who is Audio Dave?

I guess the question speaks for itself.
I posted on here last week asking for advice on an audio install.
One of my main concerns is whether to install or not. I was wondering who this magical Audio bloke is and how much he charges?

Forgive the confusion, only I had seen your advice posted on the forum and then a week later some chap is posting a thank you note to Audio Dave.
Perhaps you could help me anyway, being the Audio expert that you are.
I am looking at buying a nice new sound system for the scoob. (You may have seen my previous thread so I won't bore you with the details).
Is it worth having it professionally installed?
What should I spend my £500 on?
I need to have the cassette option so it's shuttle or nothing.
I have a 98 wagon.
Any suggestions?

No two people will give you the same advice, but here's mine.
If you feel confident about doing it, then do it yourself. Just allow yourself plenty of time; a weekend or 2 or maybe more.
Also make sure you have a good selection of tools and terminals. Theres nothing worse than stripping the car of a seat or two and lots of trim and then finding out you need something you haven't got.
Speakers are the weakest link in any system (car or otherwise) so don't skimp on them.
For the front doors I would go for the trusty Infinity 605cs or 655cs (92.36 pounds) and for the rear doors Infinity 452i (42.32 pounds).
The 605cs/655cs comprise of 16.5/16cm midbass drivers, 2.5cm (i think) tweeters and passive crossovers to split the signal between the two.
The 452i are 10cm 2-way coaxial speakers.
For the radio cassette and cd changer package i would go for one of the following:
Kenwood CD-5977R 229.00 pounds
Sony DJ-CA600-10 194.72 pounds
Sound-quality-wise theres not a great deal of difference between sources of that price range when listening in a moving car(the speakers make more of a difference), so look at others too because this part of the system is usually decided upon because of personal preference and ease of use. Make sure the radio cassette has 2 sets of RCA PRE-outs (front and rear). The 2 units above have this. Power figuers quoted on head units are wildly overrated.
An external amplifier is a very good idea to get much more of the speakers potential so go for one of the following:
Kenwood KAC-649S 118.17 Pounds
Alpine MRP-F200 116.00 Pounds
Both are good quality 4 channel amps with power output of about 25Watts RMS per channel.
That's about 480.00 pounds.
You will need to spend about 40.00 pounds on cables and terminals, i would also spend about the same on sound-deadening material for each door (40.00 quid ish for all 4 doors) to help mask some of the road noise.
Then, when funds allow 350.00-400.00 will buy you a good subwoofer and amplifier combo.
