Find a 100 gives a bit of Honk!! What frequency should I cross over at?? I have my front DLS speakers coming in at 80,to stop them getting canned with the bass.

Difficult to say without knowing the rest of the system but I'd reckon on 80Hz being the maximum. You may find 60Hz works well (less boom) - depends on the front speakers and rest of the kit really, plus what frequency your sub box is tuned to.

In my experience an 8" sub running from 100 or 80hz should be fine.
Check that the sub is designed to work in the way you have installed it. Ie sealed box, ported box, bandpass box or free air.
check the power output of your amp and the power handling of your sub. Are you overpowering it? play with your amps gain control.
