Default Applying dynamat

Hi all

could anyone tell me how easy is it to apply dynamat before i get a sound system put in? is it worth it? where is the best place to get it from and is it a case of just laying it down covering the boot etc or does it need to be stuck down?

any advice for a thicky would be great

It's easy. You need some scissors to cut it, a hairdryer or paint striper to warm it up and a towel to apply it (towel will stop you burning or cutting your hands, and allow you to push it well onto the surface). You also want a cloth and some white spirt to clean the surface first. Once it's on, you don't want it coming off.

It is worth using. The best place to put it, is behind the front speakers. Then preferably some more on the outer skin, and some on the inside skin of the front doors. Whether you use it in the boot will depend on whether you have a sub, or 6x9s in the rear.

Instead of Dynamat, Second Skin Damplifier & Damplifier Pro are cheaper, and better. You can get them from Car Audio Direct - The UK's leading car audio and stereo resource.

you only need strips of dynamatt , no need to cover the hole pannel like it says in the destructions , it works just as well.
just go across the pannel / boot in strips from one side to the other at 45 deg.
an at 25 quid a box you will save a bomb
