Front speakers for MY01
#1
Help,
I have the Clarion 2 din stereo (The one given as an option for the MY01) but until now have just had the standard speakers. Now I'll be the first to admit that I know nothing about speakers so what would you guys recommend for under £100 that would fit in the MY01, and are they easy to fit. I dont particularly want to be messing around with amps and the such like but any advice will be greatly apreaciated. Thanks.

OK heres just how dumb I am when it comes to this stuff.
My head unit is a Clarion 5655Rz which has a 4X45w output.
1) is the head unit enough to power the infinity's on its own or will it need an amp?
2) The 605CS appears to have seperate tweeters, I assume they will replace the ones in the door of the MY01?
3) What the hell is the other bit that comes with the speakers? And where do I put it?
4) (finally) Anyone know anyone who can fit them in either the basigstoke or staines area?
cheers

I got my speakers and head unit changed a month ago.
FIT NEW SPEAKERS!!!!!
The standard ones have to be the worst quality i have ever seen!! They are less than one inch deep!!!!!
Any of the infinity, Boston or MB Quart range components will make a huge difference.
As the other post says - you will need Corsa spacers - but apart from that the worst job is getting the panel off the door without ripping anything (i got the shop to do it!!).
Make sure (and you must do this) you dynamat as much of the door as possible - otherwise everything will vibrate no end and drive you mad!!! Do it when you get the speakers changed.
Pound for pound its the best ice mod you can make on an MY01... Spend around £150 and you'll be amazed at the difference!!!
