I'm thinking of upgrading to one of those new WRX STis, but am a bit worried about the fitting of replacement ICE. Looking at the pictures, the head unit in the new shape car is one of those big square ones, so if I try to fit my Pioneer into it, either it won't fit at all, or it'll leave a big ugly gap.
Are there any (decent) replacement head units that will fit, or can you get blanking plates etc?
Cheers,
Iain

No need to worry!
Autoleads do a standard two din - 1 din and a hole converter (not subaru only
) that will alow you to fit you stereo. The only issue may be that the width of your unit will be wider than the dash hole - so you may have to mount it sticking out a bit.

Just fitted a sony minidisk player to MY01. Couldnt work out how it would fit at first. When you remove the double in unit you need to remove the brackets that hold the unit into the facia and fit them to the new unit. Then get centre pocket from Subaru (pt No. 66128AE000 £12.95 plus vat) and fit this into the brackets as well.
Fits perfect when the centre cover is refitted. The Subaru part looks like it will be a better fit than the Autoleads part.
If you need any further info on fitting email me.
