Thanks!
Just bought myself a 2001 WRX ' Bugeye'.
I was appalled by the quality of the system that was installed even though this was a Kenwood 'mask' headunit and CD changer.
Looked through the receipts with the car and found that it was installed by Halfords at a cost of £500+.
Thanks to you guys (and girls) I have been able to work out how to remove the headunit / take off door trims / make MDF speaker mounts / size up possible speaker replacements / figure out the art of Dyna-matting etc all before actually starting the job.....this has been a massive help!.
I bought a set of Infinity 6.5 inch components / 10inch small sub + box / Alpine mono amp and Alpine IPOD headunit all from dealers or private sellers on ebay , whole job I reckon cost £350 tops.
The difference in sound quality is incredible.
Once again....Many Thanks to all concerned!!
SBR.
