any ideas as to why my cd player refuses to play.sometimes works sometimes dosent.tape and radiowork ok .you can hear the cd load cd1 if it dosent play it auto loads cd2 etc until it runs out of cds and emits an error.car is uk 99my with standard cd player.

 

I would say that the lens may need cleaning. Sounds like the same problem I had albeit on a hi-fi. Load CD1, it would spin round, but not play and move on to CD2.

My advice is to buy a CD cleaner. Get one from HMV and don't cost much.
