7"X10" speakers on classic rear shelf?
Does anybody know if I can fit 7"x10" Kenwood speakers on the rear shelf of my MY99 classic impreza? If so, are they relatively easy to make fit and how would I go about doing it?

if i was you i would try and get 17cm components in the shelf as you will get a much better sound. as for the 7"x10" speakers it could be done but i would think there is alot of cutting to be done.

O.K, Cheers for that. Its just I've got a set of 7x10s lying around redundant and thought I could utilise them. If its going to be too much hassle I'll stick with your advice of the 17cm ones.

Have put 6x9`s in mine and a mates rear shelf(both classics) 7x 10`s will just go in i think but cutting the metal under the rear shelf is tedious, left the shelf in to do it and cut the holes out from inside the boot in the metal + cut holes for speakers in the hardboard carpeted shelf with a very sharp knife and lots of patience-made a spacer up aswell for both cars as there were a sml gap between the shelf you see and the metal part underneath and didnt want it rattling. Most awkward part were putting the screws in to the speakers right at the bk near the window pmsl-vice grips and a screwdriver bit-talk about patience.

Sounds a bit too much like hard work. I don't know whether I 've got the patience for all that anymore. I will have a think about it but I have to admit that the 17cm speakers are sounding ever more appealing!
