Rear speakers in MY98
Probably been done to death so i apologise in advance.Im looking to change the standard speakers on the rear shelf and wondered what the peoples choice is in terms of fitting and sound quality.I know 6x9's are a bit of a pain in the preverbial to fit without using spacers etc so is there a good quality speaker that will be a direct fit or am i going to have to go the spacer route.
While im on the subject any opinions on fronts? was thinking of focal components but still unsure.Price isnt too much of an issue
cheers in advance

As I've always said: DON'T FIT ANY SPEAKERS RECOMMENDED ON HERE, OR ANYWHERE ELSE, UNLESS YOU'VE HEARD THEM!
You CANNOT buy speakkers without a listening test. Do what I did, find a big Halfords, or simliar, take a mate, kid etc with you. Switch off all fronts, play around until you find 3 or 4 rears you like the sound of. Do a blind test where you have your back to the speakers, and mate switches from speaker to speaker until you settle on the one you like. Buy that one.
Now repeat for fronts.
That's what I did: I ended up with Sony 17cm 3-ways in the front and Sony 9" x6" 3-ways in the rear. I like them, and so do folk who've heard them.
DON'T be put off by fitting: spacers are easily made from MDF if you have a jigsaw. Both fronts and rears in my '98 car have spacers: fronts hidden by door card, rears covered in carpet.
