I think you should wait 3-4 weeks for the new Alpine range to be released....thats what i'm doing.....I have the JL XR's and a 500/5
The new range also has direct/faster control/connection for ipod's as well.
This is what my Alpine Dealer advised this week

The new Alpine CDE-9850Ri has the full speed Ipod connection with no additional boxes like the KCA-420I you must be using with the 9855R and your Ipod. If the model number has i at the end then its full speed otherwise any 2006 models which are ??A-????R still need to use the KCA-420i box. So I don't think you'll see any improvements in speed with what you are already using.

Take a look at www.alpine-europe.com

Andy.

Speed isnt really the issue. Sound quality is and i'm not keen on putting a silver headunit into the scoob as it'll stand out like a sore thumb! Anyone want to buy a 9855r? (not the best sales pitch ever!)
