I had one in my old car, excellent bit of kit. Had it linked to a DDX-7025, very fast compared with others like VDO etc, but not as fast as Alpine but that works slightly different so can't really be compared. V easy to use. Easy to fit too if you know what your doing, if you can fit a head unit (which doesn't just plug in) you can fit a navi. If theres anything imparticular you want to know ask away.

I'm also thinking about one of these to go with my DDX6027. Would also be very interested in anymore detailed install information. A walkthrough of what needs doing would be excellent

Does it need connecting up to the speedo wire for instance ? Where did you install the drive itself etc

Many Thanks
Pete

The speed signal wire can be connected to the back of the speedo, i didn't bother connecting the reverse light (for the time being) & the unit fits nicely under the passenger seat just like a multi changer would, try this thread http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=477918, buying this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUBARU-IMPREZA...QQcmdZViewItem on e-bay made identifying the speed wire a doddle

Cheers

Forgive my ignorance but why do you need to connect it to the speedo wire and reversel light anyway ?

reverse is not essential, used mine for many months without it, you'll find it gets a little confused when turning round etc though, so if you want it spot on then its worth doing.
Bartop, your TT5 will work like that because its designed to work with GPS only and is not expecting to see a speed pulse where as 'proper' systems are designed to work with a pulse.

I have fitted a dv3200 to my car, excellent bit of kit. The only draw back is that it runs off a dvd so the only way to update maps is to buy a new up to date dvd which costs over £200.

It's about time someone sponsored this section - we were beginning to feel left out, down here near the bottom of the page !!
