I have just been browsing the empiredirect website and it appears that the New Kenwood KCDMP6090R will play MP3 files on CD-R (like DVD players do). This seems like a great idea, but I cannot find a pic or any other details about the head unit and Kenwood say nothing on their site about it (that I can find). I would be ordering it, but the 6080 was not really a good specification, and I would guess the 6090 is based on it.

If anyone has any more info or a knows of any other similar head unit please please help (that would save me mounting a laptop/docking station in my WRX - Which I am still toying with). I don't want to get empeg head as I would much rather have a full spec unit, and anyway for a hard disk and processor it seems very expensive.

I'm in the same boat as u, been waiting a couple of weeks now for this to be released. I spoke to incarexpress over the weekend, they said the units should be available to buy anytime within the next couple of weeks.
